Founded in September of 1999, SpeedCast is a leading broadband Internet and Digital media service provider providing broadband Internet access, multimedia content and broadband-enabled corporate broadcast services.

Asia Satellite Telecommunications Co. Ltd. (AsiaSat). is the parent company to SpeedCast Limited.

In March 2007, General Electric Company (GE) became one of the main shareholders of SpeedCast. CITIC Group, AsiaSat's founding shareholder, remains as the other major shareholder to SpeedCast.
