With the introduction of broadband satellite systems and IP trunking within their network it has improve the proposition of backhauling voice traffic over VSAT. CelCast enables cost effective network expansions and the benefits gained will grow with more sites you acquire. Lower Bandwidth means lower costs. For BTS- to-BCS transport, 50% transponder space can be saved by using a satellite A-bis interface. This middleware uses header compression and silence suppression to effectively reduce the amount of bandwidth used in the transport of voice traffic. The purpose of CelCast Solution is to minimize the space segments and improve the business case for network expansion. It also enables the possibility to run multiple services through a single satellite link.
Customers having multiple basestation sites requirements are able to share the space segment. During peak periods, one basestation can receive or transfer the bandwidth required from one another. This improves the network efficiency through higher traffic channel utilization.
