For BTS-to-BSC transport, save more than 50% on transponder space using a satellite A-bis interface. This middleware uses header compression and silence suppression to effectively reduce the amount of bandwidth used in the transport of voice traffic.
Bandwidth on demand improves peak-hour performance
For multiple basestation sites, it is possible to share the space segment. For peak periods, one basestation can borrow the bandwidth required from another one. This improves the network efficiency through higher traffic channel utilisation.

CelCast Network Overview
The purpose of our CelCast solution is to minimize the space segment and, thereby, improve the business case for network expansion. The voice traffic is treated for satellite transmission by an A-bis interface in order to maximise the efficiency of the link. Furthermore, monitoring of the link is carried out non-intrusively so, with the overall treatment, it is even possible to run multiple services through a single satellite link.
