This maximum bandwidth is expected to go beyond 2.5Mbps with the advancement of receiver technology. The performance of the return channel, target Internet server and network availability will be also key factors to achieve higher bandwidth.

- Can I limit the usage of SpeedCast FileCast/VideoCast and SpeedCast digital media for a specific group only?
- Yes, you can limit and specifiy the name of the receiving group.

- How many users can SpeedCast digital media and FileCast serve simultaneously?
- The number of users for SpeedCast digital media and FileCast/VideoCast is UNLIMITED. AsiaSat 4 covers two-third of the global population, and there can be an unlimited number of receiver groups within that population.

- Can I use SpeedCast Broadband, while I am using SpeedCast digital media or SpeedCast FileCast?
- Yes, you can use all three services at the same time. However, general performance of overall services can be limited by your PC capability.

- Can I watch satellite TV while using a DVB receiver?
- Yes, you can watch Satellite TV on your PC screen or TV if you have a TV capable DVB receiver. Please refer to the list of manufacturers to find out about the service availability in your area.

- Can I use any DVB compatible receiver to receive SpeedCast's services?
- Technically, the answer is yes, however, SpeedCast strongly recommends you use a SpeedCast certified DVB receiver that has been fully tested and verified by SpeedCast. If your receiver is not listed in the SpeedCast Manufacturing partner list, customer support will not be fully guaranteed.

- What is DVB (Digital Video Broadcast) Standard?
- DVB is a global standard for Digital Video Broadcast. It was created by the DVB Organization in Europe. Currently, the Digital Video Broadcasting Project (DVB) includes over 220 well known organizations in more than 30 countries worldwide. Members include broadcasters, manufacturers, network operators and regulatory bodies, committed to designing a global family of standards for the delivery of digital media. - Can I use LINUX for SpeedCast's services?
- 1. Yes, provided you are using a LAN Box (DVB IP Router) that runs on LINUX as the gateway to use SpeedCast services. This means that all the Window-based workstations that are connected to this LAN Box can use SpeedCast services.
- 2. If you are using a PC with the DVB receiver card and a LINUX O/S, it can support SpeedCast Broadband with PPTP (Point To Point Tunneling Protocol). In the case of SpeedCast digital media, you can view the digital media stream with a Netshow compatible viewer.

- What is a PPTP connection, and why do I need it?
- PPTP stands for the Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol. It is an add-on protocol integrating into the IP protocol stack, providing 2 main features:
- 1. A tunnel which acts like a virtual PPP dial-up connection over the Internet forcing all traffic to a specific point before continuing to the rest of the network.
- 2. Encryption & authentication on both sides of the tunnel-end users need this PPTP connection to the SpeedCast NOC in order to download from any web site at higher speeds.
