Adding Microsoft Virtual Private Network on Windows98

* Since the default settings for Windows installations do not include the Virtual Private Networking services. You must install it manually.

  1. Go to Start, Settings, and Control Panel and select Add/Remove Programs.
  2. Then click Windows Setup, then select Communication
  3. Marked check on the Virtual Private Networking
  4. Then the click OK and so on until the PC restart.

  5. Next is to check the Network Neighborhood preferences.
  6. Right click the Network Neighborhood icon on your desktop and click Properties
  7. Add an adapter called Dial-up Adapter #2 (VPN Support)
  8. Click Add, Adapter, then select Microsoft, then select the Microsoft Virtual Private networking Adapter
  9. Set the IP Packet size of your "Dial-up Adapter" and Dial-up Adapter #2 to LARGE. You can change it on the properties then Advance of each Adapter.
  10. Then click OK, and continue until it asks to reboot your PC.
  11. Then reboot the system.

Patches that need to be apply after the complete Installation (for Windows95 and 98 only).

After applying the patches, please reboot the PC.
