Adding Microsoft Virtual Private Network on Windows NT

  1. The First thing you need to do is Log in as Administrator on your PC.
  2. To setup VPN access you first need to setup a Dial Up Networking account.
  3. Once Logged in double click on the My Computericon on your desktop which will load up the following window.

  4. Once inside the control panel click the Networkicon and a pop-up window will come out like the one below:

  5. You now need to click the Protocol Tap so you can install the adaptor.
  6. You need to click the Add button, which will take you to the next window.

  7. You have to select the Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol then click OK and the following message should appear.

  8. Just click OK and leave the number of private networks as one. After that the following message appears:
    Remote Access Services (RAS)
  9. This means that you now have to setup a device like a modem called VPN1-RASPPTPM. Click Ok and the following window appears:

  10. This is what you should see if you have setup your modem etc. first to add the VPN device click the add button which brings up the following window:

  11. Select "VPN1-RASPPTPM" and click "Ok" to go to the next window.
  12. Then click "Configure" to modify your VPN1 settings.

  13. Select "Dial out and Receive call" and click OK.

  14. Next is to configure your VPN Network configuration. Click "Network.." and set the parameters the same the figure below, then click "OK" and then click "Continue" until it finish.
