The professional explorer, Mike Horn, and five-time winning driver Cyril Despres are determined to change the way motor racing is done on earth. In 2021, they participated in the Dakar Rally to collect data for a full hydrogen-powered vehicle that they have been developing as part of the GEN Z project.

In this week’s Minute with Mike, we continue to follow explorer Mike’s exhilarating 2021 Dakar Rally Race through the desolate Saudi Arabian desert, navigating the path for driver Cyril Despres. The multi-day race was fraught with environmental hazards and increasing safety risks as the racecar reached speeds of 160 mph. With Speedcast connectivity, Mike and Cyril were supported with constant communication to ensure their safety while providing real-time information to their team – plus, Mike was able to bring his followers along on the adventure in one of the most remote deserts in the world.
