Chief Executive Officer
Back- Ross was appointed Chief Executive Officer at Speedcast in September 2026. He is a seasoned technology executive with a track record of successfully leading strategic transformations at multinational connectivity, hardware and software companies serving customers across industrial, energy and enterprise markets.
- Prior to joining Speedcast, Ross served as the Chief Executive Officer at Magic Leap, where he led the company’s shift toward new AI platform and software ecosystem models, grew revenue through strategic partnerships and expanded the business into new markets.
- Ross has also held executive leadership roles at leading technology and industrial companies, including Danaher, Rocket Software (a Bain Capital portfolio company), First Solar and Belden, where he led the company’s evolution to a provider of connectivity, networking hardware and industrial cybersecurity software and built machine-to-machine and sensor-to-the-cloud platforms for remote, mission-critical environments.
- Throughout his career, he has accelerated revenue and profitability, launched high-growth product lines, and expanded businesses into new markets and technologies while driving increased customer loyalty and recurring revenue.
- Ross holds an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a BS in Accounting (and CPA) from the University of Illinois.
