The Speedcast UK team were recently notified of a quick-turnaround opportunity to supply communications for an offshore supply vessel. The team quickly got to work and turned around the project in 48 hours – including complete installation, commissioning and validation. This required the Aberdeen Build & Test and Logistics teams getting all equipment, including an antenna shipped from Aberdeen, to the Hull in a very short timeframe.
The modem was prepared and tested by Engineering on a Saturday morning ready to be included in the shipping for installation the next morning. In pre-pandemic times, this would be a challenging project, and in today’s world with many COVID protocols to follow, it was truly a phenomenal effort and achievement by the team.
