Eutelsat OneWeb is a leading provider of high-speed, low-latency satellite connectivity in low Earth orbit (LEO). As a primary Global Distributor of OneWeb, Speedcast has been actively testing and deploying OneWeb services for our customers on land and at sea. Our implementations range from maritime terminals on research vessels operating in polar regions, research facilities in Antarctica , to luxury yachts throughout Europe.
What differentiates OneWeb from other LEO satellite operators is its flexibility in offering enterprise-grade antennas from various manufacturers, including Intellian and Kymeta, with plans to expand options in the near future. Here’s a guide to some popular antennas and their optimal applications.

Intellian Dual Parabolic OW 50/70
The Intellian dual parabolic antenna is one of the earliest models available for the OneWeb network. It features a stabilized dual parabolic antenna system, ensuring seamless satellite tracking and uninterrupted data transfer, even in challenging conditions. With a download throughput of up to 195 Mbps—the highest among its peers—and an uplink speed of 15 Mbps, it delivers impressive performance. Note that professional installation is required.
Intellian Compact OW10/11
The Intellian OW 10 (half duplex) and OW 11 (full duplex) antennas strike a balance between high throughput and lightweight design. They offer unprecedented speeds in a compact form factor, optimized for size, weight, and power. Their low-profile, weatherized design ensures dependable performance in demanding environments, including extreme low temperatures and high-interference scenarios. The primary difference between the two models is that the full duplex version provides upload speeds of up to 150 Mbps and download speeds of 30 Mbps, while the half duplex offers upload speeds of up to 75 Mbps and download speeds of 14 Mbps.
Kymeta Flat-panel Peregrine u8
The Kymeta Peregrine U8 is an electronically scanning terminal designed for flexibility. It supports easily configurable dual or multi-terminal systems suitable for maritime and offshore environments. With its low-profile, aerodynamic design and IP66 marine-grade rating, it includes an embedded OneWeb modem for optimal performance. Kymeta offers high performance, with download speeds reaching 195 Mbps and upload speeds of 32 Mbps.
‘Gold’ Service Grade for Speedcast Customers
Speedcast’s OneWeb customers enjoy a ‘Gold’ service grade, ensuring higher priority on the OneWeb network and enhancing their connectivity experience. Speedcast also offers exclusive OneWeb plans with competitive pricing, which include unlimited data usage or data allowance packages, along with high levels of MIR and CIR, allowing customers to choose from various tailored options. Additionally, OneWeb features unique data allowances and pooling options, providing further flexibility. The service plans are designed for adaptability, making it easy for customers to upgrade or suspend their plans according to seasonal demands, ensuring they only pay for what they need when they need it.
