Satellite operator Iridium Communications revealed its first seven authorized Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) service partners.

Australian government-owned infrastructure provider NBN is now delivering satellite services in collaboration with Speedcast to business and government users across regional and remote parts of the country.

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) witnessed the contract signing ceremony between the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Speedcast and PHILCOMSAT to install, operate and maintain free public internet service for 3,000 remote sites all over the Philippines.

For the Pole2Pole expedition, Mike Horn sought to share his journey in real time with a global audience, trusting that the immediacy and drama of his message would achieve more than he had achieved before. That led him to Speedcast. It was to be a partnership that put both to the test.
