The Starlink Performance Kit (Gen 3) is Starlink’s newest enterprise‑grade antenna, engineered for demanding environments, high‑throughput operations, and reliable connectivity on land, at sea, and on the move. As a Starlink Tier 1 authorized integrator, Speedcast had the opportunity to unbox the new kit and walk through what’s inside, what’s new, and how to get the most out of your deployment.

If you’ve seen our latest unboxing video, you’ll know the Starlink Gen 3 kit features a refreshed design, rugged aluminum enclosure, and an updated power supply that supports both AC and DC configurations. Below, we break down each component from the unboxing and share deployment tips to help you get started quickly and confidently.
What’s Inside the Starlink Performance Box
Performance (Gen 3) Antenna
- Built with a solid aluminum enclosure, which doubles as a high‑efficiency heat sink
- Rated for –40°C to +60°C (-40°F to 140°F) operating temperatures
- Includes protective covers for the phased array surface
- Features heavy‑duty bolt mounting points for better stability and wind resistance up to 170 mph (270 kph+)
The antenna uses Starlink’s new push‑fit connector, designed for quick, secure, and weather‑rated installation.

Advanced Power Supply
The Starlink Gen 3 Performance kit includes a redesigned power unit featuring:
- AC input
- DC input (for mobile and off‑grid deployments)
- Ethernet output to your router or switch
- PoE output to the antenna
This flexibility makes the Gen 3 kit easier to integrate into diverse operational environments, including fixed sites, vehicles and marine vessels.

Cables & Accessories
Included in the box:
- 25 m (82 ft) Performance cable with the new click connector
- Ethernet cable
- AC power cable
- DC power lead with dual connectors
The 50 m (164 ft) cable option is useful for larger installations, but keep in mind that 50 m is the maximum supported cable run between the antenna and power supply due to power‑over‑Ethernet drop limitations.
Mounting Options: Flexible for Land, Sea, and Mobility
The Starlink Gen 3 Performance kit does not include a mounting adapter by default, giving customers flexibility depending on their use case. Available mounting solutions include:
Pipe Adapter
- Provides a solid, secure mount
- Compatible with various pole diameters
- Ideal for permanent installations or high‑wind environments
Kickstand Mount
- Suitable for portable or temporary deployments
- Easy to reposition as needed
Vehicle & Specialty Mounts
- Car mounts
- Mobile brackets
- Third‑party solutions for COTM (comms‑on‑the‑move)

Router Options: Starlink Gen 3 Router or SIGMA
Like previous enterprise kits, the Starlink Gen 3 Performance kit does not include built‑in Wi‑Fi. Instead, users have two choices:
- Starlink Gen 3 Router
Good for:
- Smaller or simpler deployments
- Basic Wi‑Fi needs
- Third‑Party Router / Enterprise Router
Recommended for:
- Advanced networking
- Multi‑WAN setups
- SD‑WAN management
- High‑security environments
How Gen 3 Compares to Other Starlink Enterprise Antennas
Starlink has recently reorganized its enterprise hardware lineup:
- Performance (Gen 3) – latest, fastest, most rugged; up to 400 Mbps
- Performance (Gen 2 / Flat HP) – robust, widely deployed; 25–220 Mbps
- Enterprise V4 – being phased out.
